Volunteer - Sewn Together Project

A vacancy at Sewn Together Project has opened up for a 'Volunteer' position. Sewn Together is a project that delivers free crafting workshops online and face-to-face. The workshops provide women and men from minority groups with a secure and safe space to learn a craft, make friends and gain new skills and hobbies. The project has shown a huge success with new participants joining with engaging course content delivered by expert facilitators and qualified professional artisans.

About the role:

​

You will be based at Chestnuts Community Centre in St Ann's Road, London N15 5BN. Ideally, you will be able to commit a minimum of 4-8 hours per week to volunteering. 

​

Your day to day duties will include:

​

- Setting up workshops as well as cleaning up after everyone

- Making sure everyone has signed the register 

- Supporting participants with tasks in a workshop

- Admin Duties

- Making sure snacks, teas and beverages are available for all

​

What we need from you?

​

We want someone who loves being part of a team but also:

​

- Great organisational skills

- Great attention to detail

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Some knowledge in admin

- Helping participants

Social Media Assistant - Sewn Together Project

A vacancy at Sewn Together Project has opened up for a 'Social Media Assistant' position. Sewn Together is a project that delivers free crafting workshops online and in person. The workshops provide women and men from minority groups with a secure and safe space to learn a craft, make friends and gain new skills and hobbies. The project has shown a huge success with new participants joining with engaging course content delivered by expert facilitators and professional artisans.

About the role

​

Ideally, you will commit at least 3-5 hours per week to Volunteering. You can either work from home or come to our hub in Chestnuts Community Centre in St Ann's Road, London N15 5BN. Your duties will be managing Sewn Togethers social media platforms.

​

This will entail:

​

- Creating Content (videos, graphics, animations, photography, etc.)

- Social Media posting

- Copywriting 

- Create and distribute weekly analytic reports for social media.

- Photography

- Experience in Adobe 

​

What we need from you?

​

We want someone who loves being part of a team but also:

​

- Adequate experience in creating content via Canva, Adobe creative cloud.

- Instagram, Twitter and Facebook experience would be desirable

- You must be able to be a team player, and work under pressure.

- Experience and competency in using design software would be an advantage

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
